The Garcia Project at The KATE, Old Saybrook, CT on 8/6/19
The Garcia Project is the nation’s top touring tribute to the classic Jerry Garcia Band. The Garcia project plays Jerry Garcia Band concerts in their entirety. The band recreates classic Jerry Garcia Band set lists from 1976-1995. Founded by long time Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band fans who have a special love, understanding, and dedication to the music, and the delivery of that music. The Garcia Project pays special attention to the arrangements and feel of the specific eras, including the instrumentation and vocal stylings. While not a note for note recreation, the spirit of the original always shines through, while creating with the audience a new live music experience, founded in the same spirit.
The “Days Between” tour celebrates Jerry Garcia’s Birthday (August 1) through the anniversary of his passing (August 9). For this very special tour, The Garcia Project will perform a different, classic set list from many different eras spanning 1976 through 1995. Each show will be a unique era and set list so fans can enjoy each show while trying to figure out what year its from. The band will announce the date of the show at the end of each performance.
With helpful “insider” information, Mik Bondy, guitarist for The Garcia Project, has built a complete Jerry Garcia amplifier and speaker “rig” that is a close replica to what Jerry Garcia used for all of his live performances. Mik has also been gifted two exact replica guitars to Jerry Garcia’s “Tiger” and “Travis Bean” guitars. The whole band will also recreate the stage setups and similar equipment used during each era of The Jerry Garcia Band.
