The Garcia Project announces their 2022 DAYS BETWEEN tour!
The Garcia Project, the only nationally touring tribute to classic Jerry Garcia Band set lists, announces their highly anticipated annual “Days Between” tour.
August 1, 2022 would have been Jerry Garcia’s 80th birthday. August 9, 2022 is the date that marks Jerry’s passing, 27 years ago. August 1 – August 9 is what we, Jerry’s fans, refer to as “The Days Between”.
For more than the last decade, The Garcia Project has celebrated the life and musical legacy of Jerry Garcia by performing full, classic Jerry Garcia Band set lists. Starting July 29, The Garcia Project will embark on a multi-state tour, taking the band and fans to Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, and Vermont.
Kicking off the tour at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on July 29 & 30, The Garcia Project will give fans two nights of Jerry Garcia Band music, performing a different era each night. On August 1, the band and fans will celebrate the anniversary of Jerry’s birth and what would have been his 80th birthday at The Stone Church in Brattleboro, Vermont. On August 3, the band will take the stage at the beautiful Katherine Hepburn Theater in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. August 4 has the band traveling to Norwich, New York to perform a free, outdoor show at East Park, as part of the NBT Bank Summer Concert Series. For this show, The Garcia Project will be joined by very special guest Maria Muldaur for a classic JGB show recreation from 1978. Maria was a member of The Jerry Garcia Band in 1978 and recorded on the classic “Cats Under the Stars” album. She is also the producer of and appears on The Garcia Project’s album “Spirit”. On August 5, the band returns to Massachusetts to perform at The Narrows Center in Fall River. August 6 finds the band on Cape Cod at the Payomet Performing Arts Center in North Truro, Massachusetts. On the special day of August 9, The Garcia Project will perform a special set list at Jewel Music Venue in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Catskill Jubilee festival in East Durham, New York will be the next stop on August 11. The Garcia Project will kick off the fest with a full, two set Jerry Garcia Band show recreation starting at 4:20. Other acts on the bill include Dark Star Orchestra and The Disco Biscuits. The band will then head south to Wilmington, North Carolina where they will headline the 4th Annual Port City Jerry Day at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on August 20. Finally, on August 22, The Garcia project will make its debut at Rams Head on Stage in Annapolis, MD to finish up the summer tour.

Praised by Dennis McNally (Publicist for The Grateful Dead), the press, and fans, The Garcia Project has been recreating classic Jerry Garcia Band set lists with stunning accuracy and detail across the country for the past 12 years.
“I spent a lot of nights in a lot of places with the Jerry Garcia Band, and I’m here to say that I really enjoy what The Garcia Project does with those memories. Mik’s guitar and his and Kat’s vocals stir up some very sweet vibes…some times they almost make me feel like I’m back in, say, 1992 at the Warfield. Check ‘em out.” — Dennis McNally, former publicist for the Jerry Garcia Band
“With faithful arrangements and period-correct gear and a dynamic ensemble use of conversational dixieland-style improvisation, space, and crescendo and diminuendo, the Project brought the Electric Church treatment to an exceptional show originally played by Garcia’s band in Santa Barbara on February 5, 1977. Kat’s vocals on “Stir It Up,” Dan’s loping bass solo on “Simple Twist of Fate,” Smiley’s keyboards, and Mik’s graceful channeling of the singing and playing of Garcia lifted up a roomful of new believers. Highly recommended. “ — MusicFest News
“For those of us who crave late 70’s (and through the 80’s and 90’s) Jerry Garcia Band, The Garcia Project scratches that itch for hearing live renditions of JGB shows from that period.” — Bob Minkin, legendary Grateful Dead and Jerry Band rock photographer
“The Garcia Project was on point with the whole experience and it didn’t seem like a cover band more like a mirrored band…they are just as real as the Jerry Garcia Band. “ – Buffalo FM Review
“The Garcia Project’s attention to detail on intonation and performance structure does set them apart as an authority on Jerry Garcia.” – NYSMUSIC
“If you close your eyes, you’ll swear you are at a Jerry Garcia Band show.”
– ecoLocal Magazine
“It was hard to tell that it wasn’t Jerry signing on “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” – NYSMUSIC
“In order for a tribute band to be successful, fans need to look at them as the authority on the artist they are emulating. The Garcia Project pulls it off effortlessly. Go see them live …The Garcia Project is the whole package.” – Upstate Live
